  • Yzerman sells Davis Islands home to new Lightning player

    Aug 23, 2017, 7:45am EDT Tampa Bay Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman has sold his Davis Islands mansion — and another Bolt is moving in. Lightning defenseman Daniel Girardi and his wife, Pamela, paid $3 million for Yzerman's home at 44 Martinique Ave., according to a Hillsborough County deed filed Tuesday. A Lightning spokesman declined comment. Girardi signed a two-year, $6 million contract with the Lightning on July 1. Yzerman's home was listed for sale on June 22 and went under contract within 14 days, said Jennifer Zales, an agent with Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate in Tampa. The home originally went on the market in November 2016, around the same time Yzerman purchased a condo on Bayshore Boulevard.     Tampa Bay Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman appears to be downsizing, listing a large Davis Islands home for sale and buying a condo on Bayshore Boulevard. Yzerman's home at 44 Martinique Ave. was listed for sale on Thursday, priced at $3.45 million. The house originally hit the market in November 2016 but was re-listed by Jennifer Zales, an agent with Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate. It is 6,265 square feet and on the waterfront. It was built in 2007, and Yzerman paid $2.43 million for the home in September 2010, when he took the GM job with the Bolts, according to Hillsborough County property records. If the home sells at list price, it will just surpass the 2007 sales price.
